Desi LunchBox

I’m always struggling to come up with fun Indian lunches for kids. Here I’m sharing some ideas.

FAQ

Where is the lunchbox from?

This is the most common question I have received from people. I picked up the lunchbox from a local children’s boutique. The lunchbox is called Laptop Lunches. If you google for laptop lunches, you will find their website. The website also has a store locater, which you help you find a store closer to you that carries the box.

    Hi Aarti,
I understand that it takes quite a bit of planning and work to make sure that your kids get well balanced, home cooked and great tasting lunches.
I love your ideas and also it’s nice to see that you’ve included food from all sources.
I have an 18 mth old who is a very picky eater and I feel terrible when he brings back most of his food untouched.
It sure is worrisome when I think about how much(or how little) he actually eats.
Good luck with your blog.I would definitely check the Desi Lunch Box for new ideas!
    Thanks,

    Hi Shwetha,

Thanks for the kind words. Yes it does take some planning and you eventually learn to fine tune yourself to your kids liking. 18 months is still young and I’m sure your kid will be just fine. My son has been a picky eater since he started solids at 4 months! 🙂

    Hi Aarti,

Your web site is excellent. Got lot of good idea for lunch. Thank you so much. I wanted to check with you about the lunchbox. I know you mentioned it is from laptoplunches. Just wanted to know if any food spills from the boxes ? Are they easy for little hands to open ? Please let me know.

    Hi Archana,

    Thanks for your kind words.

One of the boxes comes with a lid and its 100% spill proof. On the other boxes, I usually cover it with either foil or food wrap to make sure it doesn’t spill. I think the boxes are easy for the kids to open.

    Hi Aarti,
Firstly great job on the blog its really intresting .I wanted to know that the thermos that you use for packing hot foods is it spill proof and can adults also carry the same to work?

    Hi Payal,

    Thanks!!
    Yes the thermos is spill-proof.
The brand is “Thermos” and I bought it from Target. I don’t see any reason why adults cannot carry it to work!

    Hi Arti,

You have shared some wonderful recipes here, I will surely try them, I have one problem though my daughter was not introduced to many foods u have mentioned here like peanut butter, chicken(we are vegetarians), and she absolutely hates fruits, she started preschool just a week back and has lost almost half of her weight, I don’t know how to make her eat well,or introduce some of the foods. can you please make any suggestion.

    Thank You,’
